WHAT ABOUT ARSENIC?
Is Arsenic really a problem in tap water?
How Do I Filter Arsenic From Drinking Water?
Yes, unfortunately even in this modern day and age of advanced water filtration systems, your city's tap water may have high levels of arsenic in it. Basically the reason for this is the high cost of filtering arsenic - it's just too expensive for them to filter it.
So we the consumers must take the arsenic filtration upon ourselves if we do not wish to cook with and drink arsenic in our tap water!
There are 2 ways to filter arsenic. You can filter it with our Multipure Aquaperform carbon block filter or with our Aqua RO Reverse Osmosis filter.
The Aquaperform line is the ultimate Multipure carbon filter system. It is the ONLY carbon block filter available anywhere that is certified by the NSF to reduce Arsenic V!
With many cities now having levels of arsenic much higher than the State and Federal goals, this is the best filter for you if you want to provide your family with the healthiest, safest filtered water. It is virtually the same as our Consumer Reports "Best Buy" 750/Aquaversa filter system, but with the added ability to filter Arsenic V. Multipure is the leader in carbon block technology, having been in business for over 40 years!
It is also available in below-the-counter and countertop models.
Aquaperform Under The Counter OR Counter Top Water Filter System
Here is an example of arsenic content in water from the DWP's Los Angeles Aqueduct Filtration Plant* which provides water to residents of Los Angeles:
The level of arsenic in the LAAFP (Los Angeles Aquaduct Filtration Plant) ranges from <2 - 6 ug/L.
But the Public Health Goal (PLG) (set by the California Environmental Protection Agency) for this dangerous contaminant is .004 ug/L. *
That means that the average amount of the dangerous contaminant arsenic in the L.A. Aqueduct Filtration Plant water that arrives at the tap of millions of Los Angelenos is about 500-1500 TIMES THE AMOUNT of the Public Health Goal set by the California Environmental Protection Agency.*
*Latest Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power 2012 Annual Water Quality Report. See pages 10-11 for the chart showing arsenic levels in the Los Angeles area.
Los Angeles has what is considered to be a GOOD public water filtration system so some systems around the country actually have even MORE arsenic. Also note that in addition to Arsenic, some of the other contaminants detected at or above Public Health Goals are Trihalomethanes, Bromate, and Lead: ALL THINGS THAT OUR MULTIPURE FILTERS ARE NSF CERTIFIED TO REDUCE!
So... Do YOU need a carbon block filter system Certified by the NSF to filter Arsenic V? If so, your only choice is one of Multipure's several Aquaperform models because currently, Multipure is the only manufacturer with a carbon filter system NSF certified to reduce levels of Arsenic V.

I would advise you to check your city's Water Quality Report very carefully, paying particular attention to the State PHG (Public Health Goal) or the Federal MCLG (Maximum Contaminant Level Goal). These can be found online at your municipal water dept.'s web site.
